João grew up with a marker or a spray can in hand long before he ever picked up a tattoo machine. It started with graffiti on the streets of Brazil, a raw training ground where he sharpened his sense of line and composition. From there he moved into canvas painting, before fully committing to tattooing, a path that still shows in the graphic strength of his work today.
Over ten years of experience, several studios across Brazil, and even his own shop for a while: João has seen the trade from pretty much every angle before joining Black Hat Tattoo Dublin. These days his focus is blackwork, realism and fully custom designs, built around each client rather than repeated from project to project.
What stays consistent is his attention to detail. Every piece is treated like a story worth telling, with bold, clean lines and no unnecessary flourish. But João is just as known for something else: his ability to put people at ease. A lot of his clients leave feeling genuinely heard, not just tattooed.
