Sergy opened Black Hat Tattoo over ten years ago. Before that, he'd already been tattooing for fifteen. Plenty of time to figure out exactly what he wanted from the job: pretty much everything.

Realism, black and grey, neo traditional. He moves between styles depending on the project, sometimes just depending on his mood that day. What never changes is how he works. Most of his pieces are built freehand, drawn straight onto the skin, so the linework follows the body instead of sitting on top of it.

His view is simple. A good tattooer should be able to do almost anything. No single lane, no comfortable routine. Just versatility built through project after project, including the tough ones: custom compositions, tricky body placements, full ambitious pieces.

In the chair, his light hand makes the difference. Even long sessions stay easy to sit through. He posts a lot of his work on Instagram, enough to get a real feel for his style before you even walk into the studio.

One thing everyone at the studio laughs about: he won't drink his coffee until it's stone cold. A near sacred habit before he picks up the machine.

Got a project in mind? Book online or stop by the studio and talk it through with him.
